Britney Spears’ relationship with her mother has turned toxic.

The singer, who once was so close to Lynne Spears that she co-wrote a book with her and gushed that her mom was her best friend, is so furious with the woman that she refused to visit her in the hospital on Mother’s Day, according to several reports.

“Britney has cut off all communication with her mom,” a “friend” of the 25-year-old singer told the National Enquirer. “She’s gone from calling Lynne ten times a day to flat-out refusing to speak to her.”

Lynne, 52, was hospitalized in southern California recently when a bout of the flu turned into pneumonia. Spears reportedly is furious with her mother for urging the “Oops I Did It Again” singer to enter rehab, and didn’t call her earlier this month for her birthday, either. The Star is reporting a similar story.

“Britney says her mom betrayed her and she refuses to get over it,” the source told the Enquirer. “When she was told to give her mom a call, Britney said: ‘I’m busy, I have my own kids now.’ ”

Denise Richards and Richie Sambora - the Liz Taylor and Richard Burton of the Wal-Mart checkout - are no more. The media darlings officially acknowledged their split yesterday, although her rep said they actually ended their relationship in March.

"They didn't want to make it public because they lived through public divorces and it was very painful," a pal told In Touch.

However the two remained close enough that Richards flew to be with Sambora after his father, Adam, succumbed to cancer on April 20.

"She stayed with him in New Jersey for two weeks for the wake and the funeral," says the friend. Richards' own mother is struggling with kidney cancer.

Richards famously took up with Sambora - a recent ex of her friend Heather Locklear - while she was undergoing her own divorce from Charlie Sheen in April '06.

Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudson used a chance meeting in New York to reconcile over lingering rumors about Justin Timberlake, according to a pal.

The "SexyBack" singer attended Hudson's star-studded New Year's Eve bash in Los Angeles, sparking rumors of a hook-up. He and Diaz had recently broken up.

But a friend of one of the actresses tells me: "Kate and Cameron ran into each other outside the bathroom at the Waverly Inn a couple of Saturdays ago. Kate told Cameron: 'I didn't sleep with your man, you know.'"

According to the source, "Cameron teared up, and they hugged."

Hudson had been in town with her new beau, Owen Wilson.

“The last couple of years were hell,” Cameron Diaz told ContactMusic. “I can’t even tell you, it was so hard. I didn’t know how to handle it. But I think I’m in a much better place now, because I stepped away for a second and took a breath.”

The “Mask” star blames much of her angst on Tinseltown. “Hollywood is a funny place,” she says. “It offers so much, but it can also take a lot away from you.”

Diaz also doesn’t want people to hate her because she’s beautiful.

“If a woman who is a successful actress weighs 300 pounds and has warts, nobody ever asks her, ‘Do you think you made it because you’re ugly?’” she asks. “So why should there be prejudice against someone who’s had some success in films and looks a little better than average? It’s all in my genes, so don’t hold it against me.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have taken up temporary residency in the Czech capital, and the paparazzi couldn't be happier.

They were mobbed when they showed up at their five-year-old son Maddox's French pre-school, witnesses said.

According to one tabloid, Jolie has become so frustrated with photographers during her stay that she declared the Czech Republic "dreadful."

"I don't care if it costs me a billion dollars, I'm not staying here. Even in Africa it wasn't this bad," Jolie said as paparazzi shot photos of her daughter Shiloh, according to Blesk tabloid.

Jolie is in Prague until the end of the month for the filming of Wanted, a comic book adaptation.

Pitt has joined her and is taking care of their four children, while preparing to take a course in helicopter piloting, according to Blesk.

Lindsay Lohan rules. According to Maxim magazine, at least this month, she's the hottest woman in the world.

The "Georgia Rule" actress-troublemaker tops the magazine's eighth annual "Hot 100" list, a ranking by editors weighing buzz and beauty for women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion.

"There is no other star in the world (who) causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay," said Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinek in a statement. "Her every move is watched and reported on."

Not surprisingly, Jellinek described his young, male readership as being "obsessed" with the 20-year-old Lohan, a ubiquitous party girl who spent the weekend soaking up the sun (with a new boyfriend) in the Bahamas.

Jessica Alba had to settle with the No. 2 on the list, which is in the magazine hitting stands Saturday. She's followed, in order, by Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Biel, Ali Larter, Eva Mendes, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, Fergie, Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce Knowles and Katherine Heigl.

Celebrity sisters Ashlee and Jessica Simpson are on the list at No. 16 and No. 41, respectively. Ashley Olsen, half of the mogul acting twins, placed 37th, while sister Mary-Kate didn't make the cut.
