Jennifer Hudson feels like she "conquered the world" after joining the Weight Watchers program to shed some pounds following the birth of her first child. Now she's celebrating by becoming the face (and body) of the brand.
"No one recognizes me anymore," the 28-year-old singer-actress told Robin Roberts on Thursday's Good Morning America, where she announced her new spokeswoman role. "I wanted to go in a different direction and find a better lifestyle."
Hudson joined the weight-loss program shortly after giving birth last August to her son David Jr. with fiancé David Otunga. She said becoming a mother influenced her to get into shape.
"I have a child now and I want to set a great example for him," said the Oscar and Grammy-winning star. "Make better life choices, health choices, and just create a good example for him growing up."
Hudson, whose favorite foods include turkey wings and sweet potatoes, wouldn't reveal how much weight she's lost. However, the former American Idol contestant said just taking care of her son is a workout in itself, making it easier on those days when she isn't able to hit the gym.
"It is about balance and finding what works for you," she said.
