A producer of The Hurt Locker has apologized for sending e-mails urging Academy Award voters to cast a ballot for his film rather than "a $500 million film" — meaning the other leading best-picture contender, Avatar.

The e-mails sent by Nicolas Chartier, one of the four producers nominated for best-picture nominee The Hurt Locker, violated the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences rule against sending mailings that "attempt to promote any film or achievement by casting a negative light on a competing film or achievement," academy spokeswoman Leslie Unger told The Associated Press. The academy is considering taking action against Chartier.

In one of the e-mails, Chartier encouraged voters to rank The Hurt Locker No. 1 and Avatar at No. 10 in the preferential ballot, which contains 10 films this year. After the academy alerted the film's distributor, Summit Pictures, Chartier apologized.

"My naivet, ignorance of the rules and plain stupidity as a first-time nominee is not an excuse for this behavior and I strongly regret it," Chartier said in an e-mail obtained by the AP. "Being nominated for anacademy Awardis the ultimate honor and I should have taken the time to read the rules."

What better way to shake off a tough Super Bowl loss than to "celebrate us," as Kendra Wilkinson tells PEOPLE, enjoying Valentine's Day at Las Vegas's Eve Nightclub on Saturday night with husband Hank Baskett, while baby Hank stayed home with grandma in Indianapolis.

Much like 24's perpetually lovelorn Jack Bauer, Kiefer Sutherland will have to leave the Valentine's romance for another day.

20th Century Fox Studios has halted production on the hit series after the actor suffered a ruptured cyst earlier in the week, a 24 rep confirms to E! News.

Sutherland is scheduled to undergo minor surgery related to the ailment, but is not expected to be out long, as 24 is set to resume filming in just a few days.

"While Kiefer Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, he and Fox decided together that it would be best to complete this minor elective procedure now as a precaution as opposed to six weeks from now when production wraps," his rep tells the Los Angeles Times. "He looks forward to returning to work next week."

Likewise, Fox fully supports its action star, telling the publication: "We are temporarily suspending production of 24 while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure. We hope to resume production shortly and do not anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season's episodes."

24's eighth season premiered on Fox this January.

Here's a nickname that falls a little short.

A few days after Hailey Glassman complained to Steppin' Out magazine that Jon Gosselin's penis is "tiny, tiny, tiny," another "source" tells the magazine that his ex wife Kate had a different way of referring to his manhood: "Stubby."

According to the source, Kate would joke with friends and family about Jon's, er, shortcomings, and even call him "Stubby" to his face to mock him.
